Ode to a Hole
Down there lays just dust
and dirt
When paws are digging, it
does not hurt
It simply flies and
scatters clear
Until above ground, is
just my rear
Once it’s dug it’s time
to lie
The dirt I love but the
parents sigh
If only they knew our
Egyptian past
They dug many holes but
not in grass
Under the hot sand it
grew colder
We greyhounds simply
became bolder
At the end of the day,
the hole is for rest
Yet the parents still
remain unimpressed
Digging is my passion and
I shall not stop
Even when I accidentally destroy
mum’s crop
The holes I dig are works
of art
They can fill them in... but it’s just the start
Aura has been digging sympathy holes for Olive...I will take some pics!
